Our Story

Originally established in 1941 by Oscar Juner, a former Six Day track bicycle racer, American Cyclery is the oldest bicycle shop in San Francisco and continues to offer the finest selection of bicycles, cycling related parts and accessories.

Today, we specialize in classically styled bikes as well as the most cutting edge of cycling technologies. From stock, to “build to suit” to pure custom, American Cyclery offers a range of bikes and services that can cater to your particular needs, from an everyday commuter, a high-performance specialty bicycle or a vintage classic.

We carry a full range of Road, Mountain, Cyclocross, Fixed Gear, Single Speed, City, Retro, Comfort and Kid’s bicycles. We also offer a full selection of the finest components and accessories and clothing from the best makers. If you like all things bike, you will love the American Cyclery experience.

American Cyclery’s staff spends countless hours carefully selecting a wide range of products that are functional, easily serviceable and enduring. We go beyond trendy marketing hype. Here is an overview of the lines we carry:

Bicycle purchasing options: One option is to pay for the bike online and pick it up at our store in San Francisco. There is no charge for in-store pick up. Boxing and shipment of bikes is available for additional costs.
